Organic acid peels, also known as chemexfoliation, it is a simple procedure which uses concentrated organic acids to improve your skin tone, texture and acne. This unique natural but strong treatment employs a wide variety of organic acids depending on the goal and skin type to dissolve away the waste in your skin, reduce inflammation and boost collagen synthesis. Simply put, this is the safest and most effective way of deep-cleaning your skin.

Precautions and care:

Your Skin shouldn't be dry before a peel. Mild dryness and exfoliation after the peel can be expected.
Sun exposure: none to mild for 5 days before and after each peel.
Avoid excessive sweating two days after each session.
Products: usually a mild cleanser, moisturizer and sunscreen for 5 days after each peel. Actives like retinol should be withheld as directed.
Friction of any kind is to be avoided up to 7 days after each session.
Parlor procedures, especially waxing and threading: avoid for a week before and after, on the treated area.
Make sure you are informed about all oral and topical medications/ products that you are using.

Are the chemicals used harmful?

No, these are concentrated organic acids like salysalic acid, TCA, glycolic, kojic, lactic, mandelic, etc. used in combination, and in a concentration 5-30 times higher than what are used in products. These are strong but safe with multiple benefits.

Is a Q switched laser better for pigmentation or a peel?

Depends on the type and depth of pigmentation. Often, both are combined to work on multiple layers for optimum results.
